DCAP POSITION

Responsible development, not a blanket no.

Data centers can be part of communities that want them. Size, scale, location, water, power, environmental design, public cost and accountability all matter.

DCAP asks for a project-specific framework before a development of this scale becomes precedent:

  • clear definitions and public-review thresholds;
  • residential and sensitive-receptor siting standards;
  • full-build power and water disclosure;
  • low-frequency and tonal-noise standards;
  • generator, battery, fire and emergency plans;
  • cross-jurisdiction consultation where impacts cross boundaries;
  • public disclosure of incentives and infrastructure commitments;
  • clear allocation of incremental infrastructure costs.

We can build the technology America needs. But the rules and the facts should arrive before the concrete.
